Nicole Patin, Plus belle la vie “The work of a regional TV channel is to know how to combine local resources to create real wealth on a national scale. We have met this challenge thanks to the Media Park, which is, above all, a centre of excellence.”

“We are proud to have opened the Media Park two years ago. It optimised the project for the TV series “Plus Belle la Vie” and contributed to its present success. The environment of excellence at the Pôle and the sharing of resources on site contribute to these audience records. In fact, we rent three film studios belonging to the Media Park at the Marseille Studios. Every square metre of the sets is used for filming. Post production and the production offices occupy 500 square metres on the upper floor.

We are also 10 minutes away from the Vieux Port, very close to the Panier quarter and most of the emblematic places in the city where we shoot 20% of our exterior scenes. We film 255 episodes a year in 51 weeks non-stop for a global budget of 23 million euros. Three teams of 100 people film throughout the year.

Apart from a few permanent staff members of France 3 who supervise the project, 80% of our teams consist of local temporary staff. All the extras and 30% of the actors come from the region.

The economic benefits are considerable thanks to successful partnerships between local companies grouped at the same place: the Films du Soleil for filming and Vidéomage for post-production. I feel that the true task of a regional thematic TV channel is to synergise local resources to create real wealth on a national scale.

We have met this challenge thanks to the Media Park, which is, above all, a centre of excellence.”
