“The diversity and complementary nature of the professions represented at the Belle de Mai Media Park are indisputable assets.”
Having taken over from Nancy Angel, ex-director of the INA Méditerranée, I would first of all like to pay tribute to her work by passing on this message from Nancy:
“Setting up at Belle de Mai is the icing on the cake of a wonderful adventure. The diversity and complementary nature of the industries represented here is an undeniable asset. You can establish extremely productive partnerships here because everything is accessible. Imagine what you can do on a site with a concentration of film sets and production offices, a regional broadcasting control room and film archives…
One of the main projects on which INA is focussed is the digitisation of film archives. It’s a complex mission in which Les Films du Soleil provides us with digitisation support. We therefore planned the layout of our respective installations in advance so that our premises would be appropriate for our mutual activities.
I imagine the creation of an archiving system which could develop throughout the site; it would contribute
towards promoting the entire Media Park throughout the Mediterranean whilst building on the work accomplished
as part of the Capmed project, which is financed by the European Commission. On the Belle de Mai site, synergies are being created and bonds are being formed
because our content is mutually complementary.”
It will soon have been a year and our gamble is already paying off!
At the heart of the Media Park, INA Méditerranée is conducting numerous projects in conjunction with local governments and authorities in the cultural, educational, audiovisual and multimedia fields, leading towards the creation of an audiovisual chronicle of the Mediterranean region which will be accessible to all.
