Vincent Berge, Mobile Distillery “In the mobile telephony sector, Marseille stands out for its expertise and innovative power.”

“In the mobile telephony sector, Marseille stands out for its expertise and innovative power. The three keywords in this respect are content, technology and platform.

As far as multimedia content is concerned, Marseille has the best assets, which it is developing in companies, incubators and specialised associations. Moreover, it is positioning itself as one of the most competitive and expert cities for multimedia content.

It knows its stuff and it’s on the move.

Technology is also developing in Marseille. International companies which are among the most advanced in terms of technological innovation that have established themselves here are, amongst others, Texas Instruments, Gemplus and STMicroélectronics.

Finally, we benefit from a secure development platform thanks to students with a strong cultural background and a profound experience of the mobile telephone. We have a reserve of excellent brainpower. These combined considerations led to the creation of Paca Mobile Center, which we initiated in collaboration with Mobile Distillery, Mobivillage, AudioMobile Agency and Miyowa.

As the first joint European centre for mobile telephones, Paca Mobile Center’s mission is to share human resources, technological know-how and mobile telephones throughout the world. The objective is to reduce the purchasing costs of telephones and to increase all our knowledge by sharing resources and exchanging competences and experiences.

The success collaboration with the industry, research laboratories and public institutions made that this project could be realized in very favorable conditions.

We have all the tools for success in an ideal local context.”
