The heritage centre

Helping us find out where we came from, so that we may better understand where we are going: that is the mission of this centre, which houses three major institutions for heritage preservation. Equipped with state-of-theart technology, the Inter-Regional Centre for Heritage Preservation and Restoration (CICRP) researches, recommends and implements innovative measures and techniques for the restoration of artwork, much of which comes from the Louvre or the Château de Versailles.

The INA (National Audiovisual Institute) Méditerranée collects, preserves, manages and commercialises regional public TV and radio programmes with the aim of promoting and diffusing the audiovisual history of both Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Corsica. INA Méditerranée is also collaborating with the owners of national television archives throughout the Mediterranean, with a view to creating a Euro-Mediterranean documentary library. Finally, the Archives de la Ville de Marseille compiles, protects and showcases documents and collections recounting the 2,600 year history of the oldest city in France.
